“Paris is always a good idea”! If Audrey Hepburn said that, we must believe it.
I`ve been in the French capital several times in my life and, yes!, it`s always worthy a visit. The last time was very special. I was with my 1-year-old daughter and family and the experience was simply fantastic!
We arrived at Shangri-La Paris and had a very warm welcome from the staff. The palace itself has a magical aura. Former home of Prince Roland Bonaparte, the hotel is classy and authentic, restored with lot of attention on details and respectful of the original. Marble everywhere, gold and luxury! Simply impeccable.
Our room was overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Not too big, but cozy and sumptuous. Fresh fruit, chocolate and wine welcomed us at the arrival. The view was stunning. At night the Tour Eiffel was shining with all the lights and a jazz music in background. Our daughter was amazed and mommy too. We will never forget those moments. We would wake up, open the window and enjoy Paris in all its glory from our terrace.
Bathing with the Eiffel`s Tower view was also a memorable thing.
The hotel is central. With a short stroll next to the Seine, you can reach the Eiffel Tower and the ChampsElysees. It was so pleasant to do shopping in the luxury boutiques and then come back to the hotel for a refreshing lunch, aperitive or a cup of tea. There is a very nice garden in the yard. Even there you can admire the magnificence of the Eiffel Tower and feel the real Parisian vibes. Abundant and good breakfast, the menu has a variety of Haute Cuisine for lunch and dinner. We enjoyed and appreciate the oriental touch paired with fine wines.
We are also very thankful for the attention they gave to our baby girl. She`s got all the baby equipment in the room and the crib was very nicely prepared. The bed was so comfortable too and the room super clean. If you are a light sleeper and you want to go to sleep early at night, though, I suggest to use earplugs.
The hotel is so central that you can hear the fuss of the city, especially around the Eiffel Tower, at least until it will become quite again at late night. The windows are well insulated, but you can still hear sounds from the outside. Not a big deal anyways. My daughter, for instance, slept like a log since I put her to sleep.
Shangri-La Paris has all the charm of a boutique hotel. You feel like you travelled back in time and you are a special guest in a royal palace. On the downside, the hotel is easily fully booked, so there is not flexibility at the checkout. You must leave the room before noon. Not a big deal neither, because the staff stores your luggage and watch it as long as you need, while you enjoy the hotel`s amenities or you go out for a walk.
Speaking of amenities… the spa is great! There is a beautiful indoor pool and a very cozy area where you can chill and rest a little bit. It`s such a beautiful and warm ambience, a must-do before you leave the town.
Overall, this was one of my best experiences in Paris. I definitely recommend to stay in Shangri-La Paris to anyone and I would love to come back there again soon.
The hotel is a very good place to make some nice pictures. I chose our room as first setting, because it was so cozy and had such a great Parisian atmosphere, with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Not easy to find something like that in any other hotel.
Another lovely photo location close by is Avenue de Camoëns. It is becoming quite popular as Instagram photo spot and there is a good reason for that! You will have in one shoot the beauty and charm of the old Parisian buildings and the Eiffel tower, indisputable symbol of the city. The light is very nice too.
Everyone could make an unforgettable picture in that spot.
Other places of interest, which are worthy the time to visit, are: Pont Alexandre III, Louvre Museum, Versailles and Montmartre.
