Cyprus has such a lot to offer when it comes to a summer break, including amazing temperatures, fantastic cuisine and a wide selection of luxury hotels. Having lived in Cyprus for almost a year, I have been lucky enough to enjoy a stay at a few beautiful places however my trip to Asimina Suites was actually some years before living there and I still highly recommend it. I stayed for 4 nights and it was absolute bliss.
A flight from the UK is roughly 4.5 hours into Paphos and various airlines fly multiple times per week so no complications there, no jet lag either! Once landed you can expect to be hit by the almighty wave of hot air as the airport doors open (you know the one I’m talking about) Temperatures in Cyprus can reach the dizzy heights of 40 degrees during peak summer so make sure you choose your holiday timing wisely. Next is just a very easy 20 minute transfer to the hotel so all in all you can go from home to poolside in no time.
With just 111 all suite rooms, Asimina Suites is relatively small in comparison to some others and is most certainly adult focused. Whilst anyone over the age of 16 is welcome, if I had to describe the hotel in one word I would say tranquil. This is a place to really relax, unwind and spoil yourself. The lobby is impressive with lots of white marble and beautiful views out over the immaculate grounds and pool area.
After a welcome drink and check in I was taken to my room which at almost 38 square meters was much larger than I had expected. It comprised of a beautiful marble bathroom with luxury amenities, a bright and airy bedroom and a separate living area with a sofa. There were floor to ceiling windows looking out over the 2 interconnecting swimming pools and the hotels private beach area in front.
Top tip -If you opt to stay in an Executive One Bedroom Suite then you can also enjoy your very own private pool with Jacuzzi jets too! Guests in this room category will also be automatically allocated their own private beach cabana so you are guaranteed perfect lazy days.
The thing that stood out for me more than anything at Asimina Suites was the quality of the food, it really was outstanding. You can choose from the dining options of Room and Breakfast, Half Board, Full Board or Deluxe Ultra All Inclusive. It was the latter that I experienced and I can honestly say that every meal on every day was incredible.
There are four dining areas for guests to enjoy depending on their chosen meal plan.Estia-where an extensive buffet breakfast is served indoor or out, Pool Restaurant-A La Carte lunches in an Al Fresco setting, Kymata Restaurant-another option for A La Carte lunches then come evening it becomes a Mediterranean A La Carte Dinner area, and finally A La Carte Restaurant-exquisite evening meals that were some of the best I have experienced. Anyone that enjoys getting dressed up for a beautiful evening meal with fantastic service and all in a stunning setting will enjoy it here.
There are also three bars on site to enjoy before or after dinner drinks, and one of them often has a theme of entertainment. There really is no reason to leave the hotel!
Should you be able to tear yourself away and wish to head out for a day trip or two, there are plenty of options that I would recommend. You can very easily head into Paphos center, and take a walk along the pretty harbor to Paphos Castle. Within a short drive you can visit the historic site Tombs of the Kings, or the stunning area of Petra Touromiou beach where the famous Aphrodite’s Rock is, it’s a perfect photography spot. The concierge at the hotel was incredibly helpful and will be happy to assist with any trips you would like to make.
Overall, I would say that a break at Asimina Suites is a real luxury time out. A beautiful place where the days go by slowly, and you’re happy of that! You can wake up late without missing breakfast, you can spoil yourself silly in their extensive spa, and you can get dressed up to the nines for romantic evening dining. In between, just soak up the sun with a cocktail in one hand and a good book in the other. If this sounds like heaven then why not look them up… Go on, you deserve it.
