Amilla Maldives Resort & Residences | Becky – Wandalux Travel

With the autumnal weather setting in, we thought we’d take your minds to one of earth’s most blissful spots, the wonderful Maldives. There are many places that we love on the islands, but Amilla Fushi gets our vote today. This contemporary resort is more French Riviera than Maldives, with brilliant white cuboid accommodation, a private marina attracting VIPs like Leonardo DiCaprio, hip nightspots and a sumptuous spa village.

Located on Baa Atoll, a 30-minute seaplane ride from Malé, Amilla Fushi has its own ‘blue hole’ and is just 10 minutes from Hanifaru Bay, home to the world’s largest groupings of manta rays and whale sharks (from May to November).

Modern and minimalist, there’s not a hint of traditional thatch and timber. Social spaces include a glitzy infinity pool and the buzzy Emperor Beach Club. The vibe is chic and grown up though honeymooners, friends and families will feel equally at home.

Head to H.U.B for paddleboarding, kayaking and diving trips or get pampered from head to toe at Javvu Spa with a blissful Pure Massage combining; nail treatments by celebrity podiatrist Margaret Dabbs; a hair salon by London’s Louise Galvin; a specialist barber; an ocean-facing fitness centre and an over-water yoga pavilion. Footy matches are held with the Islanders (staff) on the floodlit football pitch and you can also grab some top tips from a resident ATP pro at the two tennis courts. First class Maldives and definitely one for your bucket list.
