A Tale of Two Cities & One Girl in Kenya | Taylors Realties

Going to Kenya had always been one of the things right at the top of my trips to-do list in 2020 and I’m super-excited I was able to achieve that in November 2020. I have no regrets and would love to share my experience with you.

The Airport

I flew from Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos and arrived at  JOMO KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT on 8 November 2020 at 04:17AM. I enjoyed the flight, it was smooth and there was very little turbulence. Upon arrival, I didn’t need to worry about a thing, I had a nice CRV waiting for me which was sent by my hotel, Four Points by Sheraton, Nairobi.

My trip from the airport to the hotel was exciting, my driver was very chatty and he showed me around as we drove past popular places in Kenya on the way to my hotel. I was so excited because it was much more than what I expected. I was only in Nairobi briefly as I was going the next day to Mombasa.

Four Points by Sheraton

The first thing I need to say is that the hotel I stayed at was an airport hotel. I was travelling to Mombasa the next day and I needed somewhere close to the airport to rest for the night. The Four Points by Sheraton was just perfect. The hotel is elegant and service is splendid. I felt at home the moment I walked through the doors. One thing I like about the hotel the most is that it is very serene. The serenity of the place is un-explainable I had a great time there but soon it was time to got to Mombasa.

Mombasa is the coastal city in South-East Kenya along the Indian Ocean. The city of Mombasa is known for its beautiful beaches and blue skies. It truly is a beautiful city. I decided to spend my time in Mombasa at the Voyager Beach Resort.

Voyager Beach Resort

I arrived at Voyager Beach Resort, Mombasa in the morning. I got to the reception I got a warm welcome from a well-dressed attendant who gave me a welcoming  smile. He took my luggage and offered me a seat while he helped me sort out my reservation.  While I was sorting that out another attendant asked if I cared for a drink! At this point, I knew my holiday had truly begaun! Why not? I replied and I was offered squeezed juice. Delicious! The service rendered was more than I expected it to be. I was treated like a Queen right up until I entered my room

I checked into my well-furnished room with a pool and Sea view. This had to be my favorite thing about the room. The decor room was African and there were a lot of cultural pieces in the room. I settled down after a cold shower then I took a nap for a couple of hours, ready to start my day.

I was tired! *Beeeep* A call woke me up from receptionist to remind me of my lunch, I got ready and went to the restaurant! I didn’t want to sleep away my holiday! Lol.

I has a beautiful lunch and was introduced to my tour guide. He showed me all the beautiful sites around the hotel. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, I’m going to let my pictures tell you the rest of the story…

My company, Taylor’s Realties partners with Voyager Hotel after this trip because the service was truly impeccable. My experience was so great that I can say that if you’re planning a trip to Kenya, you’re in for a beautiful and relaxing journey. Kenya is beautiful, the people are friendly and I would certainly love to visit it again.
